Adult Learners

We have several programs that are ideal for our adult learners, including a harbor tour around Block Island’s Great Salt Pond and our Tuesday Talks Lecture Series in which we invite scientists, historians, archeologists, and researchers to speak about interesting maritime topics. Check out the BIMI Events list to view the specific speaker and subject.

HARBOR TOUR OF THE GREAT SALT POND

Get your sea legs aboard an historic 26-ft. Oldport Launch as we tour the Great Salt Pond and learn about local history, folklore, and the ecology of Block Island. Mondays & Wednesdays at 10am at BIMI. $30 pp; $100 for a group of 4; children 5-and-under ride free. Reservations required.

TUESDAY TALKS

Scientists, historians, archaeologists, and researchers bring their fascinating stories and latest findings to our weekly seminar series. Join us on Tuesday evenings this summer for an enjoyable evening of information and conversation with complimentary food and drink.

Tuesday Talks start at 7:00p.m. and are followed by discussion with the speaker. Seating is limited and space fills quickly.

The weekly seminar series is a free event; however, donations which are used to support the Tuesday Talk series and ongoing children’s programs, are suggested.

Tuesday Talks can be found on the events calendar.
