10 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. (Student Short Film)(“Stay Don’t Go”) — 20 mins. — Written & Directed by Brian Velsor, Produced by Scott Gerlomes, Starring Quinn Jackson, and Marcel Simoneau / Story (Drama/Psychological Thriller): As the search for a missing teenage girl goes cold – Martha, a devoted volunteer, stumbles across a possible lead. When her warnings are met with indifference and exhaustion, Martha is forced to take matters into her own hands. *Note: This is a Columbia University MFA thesis film.

1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. (Documentary Short Film)(*NAMI-BI SPONSORED FILM)You Are Not Alone” — 16 mins. — Directed & Produced by Kelly Schaber) / Story: A short documentary about a collaborative, mixed media art project started in 2019 by Samantha Schutz and Annica Lydenberg. Their project was created to connect and provide community and support for individuals living with mental health challenges and the people that love them.

2:30 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. (Documentary Short Film)[*Special BIFF Mental Health Featured Film]Faces After Suicide” – 7 mins. — Written, Directed & Produced by Lindsey Doolittle) / Story: Doolittle’s husband died by suicide at home where she found him. (TRIGGER WARNING) This documentary contains information about suicide which may be triggering to survivors. The filmmaker said that people who have lost someone to suicide will not only blame themselves, but are usually blamed by others. Supporting survivors can help break the cycle of stigma.

3:45 p.m. to 4:05 p.m. — (Documentary Short Film)[*BIMI FEATURE](“Fresh to Frightening – The Sharon Green Story”) — 20 mins. — Written, Produced & Directed by Gareth Kelly, Produced and Starring Sharon Green / Story: In the early ’80s, inspired by her father’s Canada’s Cup triumph a young girl from Burlington Bay Canada, Sharon Green, entered the fray. Green established herself as one of the finest yacht racing photographers of her generation, perfecting aerial photography capturing incredible images of racing yachts in her favorite condition – Fresh to Frightening!

6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. — (SPOTLIGHT FEATURED FILM)* — “Island Nurse” — Documentary — one hour — TRIBUTE TO MARY DONNELLY — Directed & Produced by Sue Hagedorn / Story: The film chronicles the life and times of Block Island’s legendary nurse and philanthropist, Mary Donnelly, who recently passed away. *The 2022 Block Island Film Festival is being held in tribute to Donnelly.

7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. — Q&A Panel with Sue Hagedorn (and Donnelly’s daughter Marguerite)
