Directions to BIMI

From Old Harbor:

  • From the ferry, take a right onto Water Street and follow all the way to Beach Street.
  • Take a right on Beach Street and then a quick left onto Ocean Avenue.
  • We are on the right, down the hill before Dead Eye Dick’s Restaurant.

Harbor Tours

Spend a relaxing hour on Block Island’s famous Great Salt Pond aboard an historic 26-ft. Oldport Launch as we tour the Pond and learn about local history, folklore, and the ecology of Block Island. Tuesdays at 10 AM and Wednesdays at 11 AM at BIMI!

Family Fun

Our daily programs are perfect to peak a child’s curiosity about the marine world. We offer a variety of fun family activities with a focus on hands-on exploration throughout the week. See what we have in store.

Tuesday Talks

Scientists, historians, archaeologists, and researchers bring their fascinating stories and latest findings to our weekly Tuesday Talk series. Join us each Tuesday evening this summer for an enjoyable evening of information and conversation.

Fishing Academy

The Fishing Academy at BIMI provides a safe, fun environment for children ages 6-14 to learn how to fish, or improve on the angling skills they already have. To ensure the best possible experience, we set a limit of 10 students per session.

Signature Events

Celebrate your special occasion with BIMI! Our facilities are great for private events. Host your child’s birthday party or wedding reception with us.
